Kitten Heels Are Back

For all you Sex And The City fans who watch Carrie tot around New York in awe of how she manages to wear heels all day everyday and not end up walking home barefoot, this is your shoe - and her shoe. Since first watching the show a few years ago (I say first because there has since been a second and third time), I've been a little jealous of the late nineties, early noughties shoe trend. For the past decade, kitten heels have been a bit of a fashion faux pas, more appropriate for girls under the age of 10, but at last fashion has brought back the heel you can actually wear 24/7, just like Carrie.

When did vulgar fashion become cool?

Something I've been thinking about lately is whether there is really such a thing as unfashionable anymore. The more outlandish or "ugly" an outfit is, the more fashionable it seems to be. We are living in a time where there is no longer such a thing as bad  style. What is celebrated instead, is uniqueness and individuality.

Due to this shift in mindset and direction, a new trend has been created: vulgar fashion. A look not quite wearable in every day life but popularised by a new wave of designers and their devoted celebrity followers.

It's not pretty, it's not elegant and it's certainly not refined. What it is, however, is modern, crude, a little grotesque, sometimes slightly uncomfortable and undoubtedly "cool".

A lesson in getting dressed when it's f-f-freezing (hint: faux fur, faux fur, faux fur!)

English Winters feel less like a season and more like the best part of the year. Although I have an unhealthy obsession with coats and jackets, by the time January rolls around, I do begin to feel a little fed up of Winter clothes and always having to face the challenge of wearing as many clothes as possible whilst still looking like a human as a pose to half shar pei dog (seriously, google them!). If you live in a chilly climate, here are some ideas for what to wear over the next couple of months if you're at a loss for ideas that aren't completely boring.

Get inspired with these captivating images

If you've got the January blues and are consequently lacking in inspiration, this compilation of eccentric and offbeat images may just be the thing to get your senses roused. Whether you are after fashion inspiration or not, these images will no doubt leave an impression on you.

I have a penchant for photography and (as you know) fashion and it's a beautiful thing when you find an image compelling and stimulating. I find myself inspired by all sorts of things, be it highly editorial fashion shoots, pictures of inspiring or whimsical people, places, intriguing photography, ordinary people, words... Expect more posts like this to come, there are oodles more images of this nature that I'm more than eager to share. I personally love posts of this kind that are like a sort of visual scrapbook.

Catherine "Kate" Bush (born 30 July 1958) is an English singer-songwriter, musician and record producer. Her eclectic musical style and idiosyncratic vocal style have made her one of the United Kingdom's most successful solo female performers. At the age of 19, Bush topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks with her debut single "Wuthering Heights". "What I've tended to do is to use my own experiences to get into someone else's mind, like in Wuthering Heights":

Christopher Kane's Crocs

Fashion has reached an all time low. This week Christopher Kane presented his Spring/Summer 17 collection at London Fashion Week and stunned the audience when his models walked down the catwalk in no other than crocs. Yes, you read that right. Crocs, the shoes little kids wear to the beach and old ladies wear gardening. Not the kind of shoes associated with high fashion and style. I'm afraid I will never be on board with this trend (oh God, please don't let it become a trend), I've had a hate relationship with crocs since they reached popularity in 2006 and a few crystals and fancy rocks will not change my mind. See for yourself, has the ugly shoe been taken too far?
